Children’s Ministry
We strive to be a warm and welcoming place where elementary-aged children learn, experience, and share the depth of Jesus’ love. It is our aim that children learn not only the individual stories of the Bible, but how they connect with the overarching story of the Bible: a story of God’s love and redemption through Jesus Christ.

Sunday School

Building A (Sanctuary building)
Our Equip Sunday School classes offer grade-appropriate lessons for our elementary-aged students.
Children’s Church (Grades K – 2nd)
8:45 am (Building A) and 11:00 am (Building C)
Children begin the hour by attending worship in either the Sanctuary (8:45 am) or the Worship Center (11:00 am). Before the sermon, children in grades Kindergarten – Third are given the option of being dismissed from the service to participate in children’s church. Children in gades Fourth and Fifth remain in service. Children of all ages are welcome in worship services.
Wednesday Night Live
Building A
Wednesday Night Live (WNL) is our weekly programming with opportunities for all ages including choirs, Bible studies, and more. Opportunities for children include:
Children’s Choir (K-5) | 5:30 – 6:15 pm
All elementary-age children are welcome to join the children’s choir. At the conclusion of rehearsal, children will attend our Mountaintop Kids Wednesday night kids’ programming (information below). For more information about children’s choir, please e-mail Susan Orgain.
Mountaintop Kids (K-5) | 6:15 – 7:15 pm
Children are separated into two age groups (K-2nd and 3rd-5th) for age-appropriate Bible lessons, hands on activities, and a whole lot of fun! To learn more about Wednesday Night Live (WNL) programming and dinner, please visit our WNL page.

What will my child experience at First Pres?
Our staff and volunteers delight in nurturing our children and pointing them to Christ through age-appropriate lessons, creativity, and play.
What do I need to bring with my child?
Please be sure to bring anything your child may need throughout the morning. Please be sure you label all of your child’s belongings. A light snack is provided (typially Goldfish crackers and water). You may send snacks with your child but please note that our children’s spaces are nut free.
How do I check in my child?
Please enter through the Welcome Center doors. Our check-in kiosks are located here and someone will be happy to assist you.
How do you ensure safety for children?
Every person who is involved in working with our preschoolers, children, and teenagers have passed a background check and receive regular training on safety protocols. These are the only individuals allowed on our children’s hallway. In addition, we have security team members and on-site polie officers to help ensure the safety of all who attend First Pres.
What if my child is not feeling well?
Before coming to First Pres, if your child is not feeling well we ask that you keep them home. Any child who has had a fever within 24-hours of a planned attendance at First Pres should also be kept home.
If your child starts to not feel well while in our care, we will notify you by text message or other means, if necessary.
